The opportunity
Avondale School required a 500-seat, dual-purpose auditorium and worship space to enhance their campus facilities. The school engaged Coverite Projects to deliver construction documentation and a compliant construction solution that integrated with existing structures and respected the school’s daily operations.
How we helped
Coverite Projects stepped in to manage, design, and construct the auditorium, featuring a 6-metre-high ceiling, full custom seating, and an innovative timber panel system from floor to ceiling that doubles as acoustic lining. Our team handled every aspect, from hydraulic and ventilation systems to CDC lodgements and approvals, ensuring a seamless process. We carefully scheduled high-impact noise and materials deliveries around school hours, minimising disruptions to the school environment. Additionally, we redesigned the project, securing compliance with CDC requirements and integrating the auditorium with an adjacent structure to repurpose part of the existing building, saving costs and maintaining accessibility.

As construction continues, Avondale School is set to receive a compliant, acoustically optimised, and multipurpose auditorium that aligns with their functional needs and enhances campus life. The thoughtful integration with the surrounding campus ensures minimal disruption during construction and maximises the utility of existing facilities, providing a sustainable, community-centred space.
