Creating inclusive learning spaces for St Philip's Christian College students with unique educational needs

In partnership with the Dynamic Learning College, we transformed an outdated building into an environment designed to enhance student wellbeing and engagement. Thoughtfully incorporating sensory-conscious elements, flexible spaces, and modern functionality, this project reflects our commitment to innovative educational design.

A Space Designed to Support Every Student
Dynamic Learning College, the fourth campus in the St Philip's Christian Education group, provides a tailored learning program for students with a diagnosis of Anxiety, Depression, PTSD and/or Autism. The school needed to repurpose an outdated building into a sensory-conscious, adaptable environment that supported both collaboration and quiet reflection. Coverite Projects took a research-driven approach, visiting other campuses to understand best-practice design for neurodiverse learning environments, and incorporated sensory zoning, enhanced acoustics and calming coastal-blue tones, while working with the original architect to retain the building's high, curved ceilings and natural light. Since opening for the 2025 school term, the college has given students a purpose-built, flexible space, with teachers reporting the central hub supports self-regulation and improved focus, while breakout and collaborative zones enable both quiet reflection and hands-on learning.
