Brentwood Aged Care facility engaged with Coverite Projects in early 2020 just prior to the outbreak of COVID-19. 

Despite a couple of false starts, Coverite were able to quickly and efficiently work with the client to establish effective worksite and infection control procedures and the project went ahead on site in June of 2020. 

The design focused on lifting the already light filled facility to a modernized level of comfort for the residents utilizing soft neutral tones throughout and accenting with bright playful colours in furniture and feature elements. 

The design process also included the refurbishment of the facility courtyard, creating human scale in a voluminous space and inviting residents, families and friends out of doors to enjoy the sunlight and perhaps a BBQ on a sunny day.  The careful placement of a diverse range of potted plants, built in seating elements together with shade and sensory experiences – such as a kitchen garden and small orchard – resulted in an outdoor environment that the residents now love.  Coverite worked incredibly closely with the client, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the whole of the project delivery phase to ensure that the project overall was delivered on time and on budget despite the impacts of COVID-19 and the associated lockdowns.
